I. Background and Objectives
Background:
Since the proposal of the International Patriotic Pact initiative at the United Nations Human Rights Council in September 2022, it has garnered support from over 150 organizations across 50 countries.
On February 7, 2024, and February 13, 2025, we successively hosted side events themed "The International Patriotic Pact Initiative Promoting Social Development" during the 62nd and 63rd sessions of the Commission for Social Development of the Economic and Social Council at the UN Headquarters in New York. These events highlighted the pivotal role of consensus in driving social development and provided a valuable platform for international exchange and cooperation.
The Second World Summit for Social Development is scheduled to take place in Qatar from November 4 to 6, 2025. At this critical juncture, we propose organizing a side event centered on the core principle of "love one’s own country without harming other nations’ interests" advocating for equality, mutual benefit, and win-win cooperation. This event aims to translate this principle into concrete actions and promote reforms toward a more just and rational global governance system. We hope to foster greater international consensus, encourage countries to work together, and jointly create a new landscape for global social development and governance while pursuing their own development and respecting the interests of others.
